It is with joy and happiness that I welcome the move by former Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) youth chairman, Dithapelo Tshotlego to join the opposition. To those who are still not sure of following the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC), it is granted that we cannot all see things the same way all the time. I know some of our friends in very high Government offices are with us in spirit. It is not a secret that some in the BDP would want to join us but are scared of being victimised and end up losing tenders and jobs they have been given.
Doors are still wide open at the UDC. There is plenty of room in the UDC and Boko's kingdom. A little advice to the party I used to like and actually sat in one of its most powerful committees at the time - your ministers should be careful about what they say at rallies. It was shocking to hear one telling voters that if they do not vote BDP they will NOT have facilities like clinics. This was a careless and irresponsible statement by a minister. Such statements are annoying, even to your party members. But if this is your party's strategy, I withdraw my advice. Each man for himself God for us all!
