I committed no offense - GC Mayor

I note the allegations contained and published in The Midweek Sun. These are serious and damning allegations in nature. I wish to state for the record that I committed no offense in relation to the complainant.

The fact that for 2 years she did not report the incident or allegation of rape says it all. I am also made aware that the same allegations were once levelled against another prominent opposition politician recently by the same complainant. Is it a coincidence? I am constrained to comment any further on this issue for reason that investigations are on-going as reported in the newspaper. I will cooperate with any competent authority in the investigations to clear my name.

My conscience is clear and it is my hope that this matter will be resolved expeditiously. I am a law abiding citizen, and as such, these cock-and-bull allegations came as a shock to me and my family. I wish to call for calm to all Gaborone residents as I am available and willing to clear my good name if indeed there is anything to in this article.

I vehemently advocate for the protection of women and minors and will stop at nothing to advocate for them. I WILL NEVER RAPE let alone engage in the alleged sexual misconduct.

I will not make any further statement on this matter. Should need arise, any inquiries or further statement regarding this issue must be channelled to my legal advisor Mr. Kago Mokotedi at the following details 77761116, This email address is being protected from spambots.
