BOCCIM - soon be known as Business Botswana - is introducing a new world wide chamber of commerce service to its members known as The Chamber Trust Seal.
Chamber Trust is a world chamber Federation initiative. This is a chamber business trust mark which is said to provide a traceable presence for a company that is online, through verification services of a relevant local, regional or national chamber of commerce.
The purpose of this trust seal is to assist small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) already active in, or interested in, developing new markets in international trade. Speaking on Wednesday during a media briefing, Director - International Networks and Partnerships - at Paris Chamber of Commerce, George Fischer, said Chamber trust will bridge the gap of scams where bogus businesses sent mails offering to partner with local businesses.
Joseph Willie, a BOCCIM member, said the chamber for trust seal is of great benefit to the local business community as it provides them with visibility and people elsewhere can be assured that such business do exist.
He said it also provides authenticity about the businesses hence giving assurance that the businesses that they deal with are legit.
The business-to-business-verification seal allows companies around the world to easily find potential new business partners whose existence, profile, products and services have been verified by a Chamber of Commerce. Some of its benefits include promotion of new products and services regularly with a comprehensive search engine. It also gives exposure through the world chambers network site and furthermore provides the impact and recognition created by verification from qualified chambers.
