The Botswana Telecommunications Corporation Limited (BTCL) stock plummeted twice this week – first on Thursday before it fell again on Friday as the market closed for the weekend. The newly listed telecommunications company lost 0.01 Thebe on Thursday before going on to loss a further 0.04 Thebe on Friday to close the week trading at 125 Thebe per share. The company listed on the exchange two weeks ago with a listing price of 100 Thebe per share. BTCL is not the only company to have suffered a decrease in share price with Botswana Insurance Holdings Limited (BIHL) also closing the week on the red. The group lost 0.01 Thebe after starting the week on the green, gaining 0.01 Thebe on Monday and Tuesday. Letlole is the only company that closed the week on the green having gained 0.01 Thebe to end the week trading at 215 Thebe per share. There was no movement on the Foreign Company Index (FCI) as all the companies were on black. Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) did not register any change in price movements either.
