BancABC part of Atlas Mara, has announced that it will offer enhanced convenience through updated SMS notifications to its customers from May 23rd. The enhancement will see all transactions over P100 accompanied by an SMS notification to the customer, providing customers with an overview of the account as transactions occur. “The enhanced SMS platform means that not only will customers be receiving notifications when they do card transactions as has been the case, but for all account activity over P100. This will enable our customers to closely monitor their accounts, in order to better manage their finances as well as avoid cases of fraud,” said the BancABC Head of e-Channels Chester Nziradzemhuka. In January 2016, BancABC launched BancABC Mobi, the first self-registration mobile banking platform in Botswana. Since launch, the platform has gained encouraging traction with the customers, with current figures at over 50% customer registrations in just four months.
“At BancABC, we are continuously looking for ways in which we can answer to our customer’s banking needs and improve on current offerings. With the growing prevalence of digital platforms in Botswana, a large part of our improved propositions going forward will utilize these platforms to better serve our clientele,” highlighted Mr Jitto Kurian, BancABC Managing Director. BancABC continues to demonstrate commitment to providing enhanced convenience, through the introduction of new products and services as well as improvement of existing platforms. Through Enhanced SMS Notifications and other e-channel platforms being working on, the bank continues to live up to its commitment to provide convenience service to our customers.
