The national airline Air Botswana on Wednesday launched an ambitious campaign aimed at improving among others its revenue. The campaign, which was launched by Air Botswana Director Commercial Hugh Fraser, will see the airline rolling out a campaign named ‘it’s better to fly Air Botswana’ in Botswana as well as in South Africa. Fraser said the purpose of the campaign is to address the misconceptions associated with the airline and the industry as whole. He said Air Botswana has been perceived to be too expensive and hence the need to address those concerns.
Besides targeting to improve the revenue of the airline, which has been recording losses in the past years, the campaign seeks to increase passenger numbers and will see Air Botswana increasing its baggage allowance for regional flights. Fraser said the campaign will boost the tourism sector which relies mostly on the airline industry and other travellers in the business and leisure segment. The campaign, which will run for eight months until March next year, will seek to reposition the airline as offering the best value for money and on-time perfomance across its route nextwork.
