Botswana Public Officers Pension Fund (BPOPF) has launched the ‘Go Live Campaign’ that is aimed at highlighting their role in taking over fund administration and financial services. The Go Live Campaign is an integrated system that is expected to improve convenience, data security and cost efficiency for members. The campaign has been launched to educate and inform the public about BPOPF’s role and benefit to its members and also to become a one stop shop for all member enquiries. BPOPF Chief Executive Officer Boitumelo Molefe said they are determined to continue nurturing their relationship with their members. She said through the Go Live campaign they intend to engage their valued customers and the public to assure them that their funds are being appropriately invested.
“We strive to deliver on our promises and ensure the achievement of the fund goals and objectives,” she said, adding that they are moving towards having more of their assets invested locally through citizen-owned asset managers and as such the in-housing strategy will prove beneficial to their members. The Fund Administrator Director Gaolathe Otsetswe said as fund administrators they are responsible for processing of all pension claims in death, retirement and withdrawals. She said as they launch Go Live, they are also in the process of setting up a Trust Fund for benefits allocated to minor dependents. A call centre has also been established. “This is to ensure that all incoming calls into BPOPF go through and the clients will be assisted accordingly,” she said. Otsetswe said they are doing all to improve members’ satisfaction levels and are using the first six months of the insourcing to develop new service standards.
