Barclays Bank Botswana this week announced a partnership with Liberty life which has seen the duo introducing new two life products. The two products are Tshireletso Plan and Bosele Plan. The Tshireletso Plan provides customers with finance to assist with the living and treatment expenses on first diagnosis of a chronic illness. Barclays Retail Director, Brighton Banda, said these illnesses include heart attack. The Bosele Life Plan, he said, gives customers the opportunity to access up to P15m of life cover with attractive optional benefits such as physical impairment and permanent disability. “This life insurance policy ensures that if a policy holder were to pass away or become unable to provide for loved ones due to illness or disability, their families will receive a lump sum to help them through such a difficult time in life,” Banda said during the products unveiling on Wednesday.
Liberty Life, which is the underwriter of the products, says it has insurmountable experience in providing Batswana with bespoke products and services designed to enhance the quality of their lives. Liberty Life MD, Lulu Rasebotsa, said the company has a long-standing history in developing and delivering leading BancAssurance products and has over the years managed to contribute significantly in the growth of non-interest income for its partners. Through the Bosele Life and Tshireletso plans, Rasebotsa said they are further giving their mutual clients an opportunity to secure the future of their families, should they no longer be able to. She described their partnership with Barclays as a natural fit – the coming together of two big brands that understand the culture of people.
