Liberty Life Botswana this week unveiled a machine known as an office in a box – an embodiment of all equipment that makes up an office, including laptop and a scanner. Head of Retail Business at Liberty Kgomotso Disele said Office in a Box is a ‘plug and play’ complete solution, especially useful in peri-urban areas. Office-in-a-box is fitted with a laptop, scanner, printer, modem, biometric device and an identity device. Disele said the device would not ease access to their products and services but also allow Liberty Life Botswana to play a role in supporting small businesses of their direct sales agents and franchise under incubation programme. “Providing the sales agents with an office that is ready to function will ease the start-up costs, and financial burden experienced by SMME businesses,” she said. Disele said in the current state of the economy, everything needs to be done to support distribution partners. “We are proud to say that we are playing our role in not only assisting our distribution channels, (sales agents) but also encouraging financial inclusion,” she said. Through the availability of the device, Disele said more knowledge would be available to customers which will lead to clients being able to create wealth for themselves.“We believe that our clients should have the opportunity to grow their wealth and leave a legacy for their families. By providing more distribution channels – through the growth of our sales network, we are making knowledge more reachable,” she said. The introduction of office in a box is said to be part of the company’s 2020 strategy in which Liberty intends to be a market leader in technology by that year.
