MultiChoice launches funeral scheme

Multichoice Botswana has launched Realeboga Funeral Insurance to reward its loyal customers. One has to simply remain connected to DStv for a period of three months continuously and would automatically qualify for the insurance scheme. The funeral insurance which is underwritten by Botswana Life is aimed at thanking eligible customers for their continuous loyalty to DStv by ensuring that they are covered in the event they pass on. Subscribers qualify having stayed connected for three months on any DStv package and would receive cover for themselves and their spouse at no excess cost. According to the company, the cover will vary depending on the package subscribed to and will continue to increase with each month of active subscription until a P14, 000 cap is reached. Multichoice Botswana Retentions Manager, Ramolelwane Makubate, said the funeral scheme is to appreciate their customers even though the company’s core business is to provide entertainment through their subscription packages. The value of the customer’s funeral insurance cover depends on the DStv package they are subscribed to and the length their subscription has been active, for example a premium subscriber would be covered by P7, 000 having stayed connected for three months and the figure will rise to P8, 000 for a subscriber under the same bouquet. All subscribers under difference packages are covered if the customer is above the age of 18. Realeboga Funeral Scheme is part of the recently launched retention programme known as DStv THANKS which is aimed at rewarding and thanking customers for their loyalty to the brand. The company says this will allow an eligible customer to be awarded funeral policies which aims to ensure that qualified customer and or spouse can benefit from a payment in the event of death.
