Stanbic Bank Botswana recently handed clothing to disadvantaged youth at Therisanyo Primary School in Old Naledi. The bank’s Finance Department donated uniforms and personal hygiene products to children on Friday the 6th of July 2018.
The Finance team, led by Ms Realeboga Hassam – Acting Chief Finance Officer – presented items worth P32, 979. 46 to Therisanyo Primary School leadership and its Parents and Teachers Association (PTA). Items donated were as follows: 77 pairs of tracksuits; 54 pairs of shoes; and sanitary pads.
With its focus on corporate social investment, Stanbic Bank considers it a business imperative to support and help uplift the communities in which it operates. “With this initiative, we are trying to empower youth of tomorrow, our future leaders. This is how our team are working to make a difference, demonstrating the culture of colleague volunteering and employee participation that we drive within the Bank,” said Hassam.
Stanbic Bank believes that not only will pupils benefit in the form of clothing, but that the items donated will also provide a conducive learning environment in the sense that pupils will focus on their studies. Stanbic Bank Botswana believes that no child’s education should have to suffer because of a lack of basic needs.
“We thank Therisanyo Primary School for the warm welcome and for engaging us in our effort to give back to our communities. Indeed, we vow to continue to better the lives of those less fortunate in our society, for CSI is an inherent part of our strategy and our culture as Stanbic Bank and has been for 26 years now,” she said.
