Serokolwane Lawns will host a Wedding Expo on August 1. This will be their inaugural wedding expo at the farm which is located along the A1 highway near Oodi village. Marketing Manager for the event Thato Mahube said they aim to draw 150 exhibitors. She said the event was a spectacular occasion for future brides and grooms to meet different exhibitors who could add value to their special day. She said that the exhibitors will be mostly from South Africa and Botswana. There will be three bridal fashion shows lined during the day. This will also give the brides and grooms the chance to spend quality time with their bridal parties, friends and family.

The tickets for the event cost P75 for adults while kids who are between six and 12 years old pay P30 and those below six get in for free. She said the kids will be well taken care since they will have a kids’ corner. Exhibitors can exhibit in the area of tents and deco, catering, florist, wedding gowns, designers, lingerie and accessories, shoes. wedding gifts, cakes, wedding favours, sweets and chocolates, beauty spas, health and fitness, music and entertainment, transport and accommodation.

She said they are giving away a wedding package valued at P30 000 for a couple who will be hosting their wedding at Serolokwane farms. To qualify one just has to buy tickets for the expo. In the evening of the expo there will be the wedding jam at Cigar lounge where people will come up with outfits that they wore during their wedding day. Mahube said they have realised that couples spend a lot of money on their wedding outfits which they only wear once. “Couples and bridal parties can get a chance to wear their outfits again, party together and relive their special day,” she said. She added that they believe this will add more excitement to the expo and set it apart from the rest as it will be a first in Botswana. At this event couples will pay P150 to enter while singles will get in for P100. According to Mahube, the wedding expo is important for the wedding industry because it plays a crucial part especially for those that have plans of getting married. She urged exhibitors to come forth as the event will provide them with a great tool for advertising and help those who want to get married with new trends, products and services, decoration and other important aspects of the wedding market. She said that they want to be abreast with other countries around the world which hold wedding expos like the National Asian Wedding Expo, Vancouver Wedding Expo in Canada, the British Bridal Exhibition and the South Africa Wedding Expo which is the largest and most comprehensive wedding expo in Africa.
