One of the biggest restaurant franchisers in the country has re-launched a revamped Riverwalk Mall restaurant. The new look dubbed ‘Brave Heart’ has is stylish with waiters’ gear up-scaled to trendy wear. Both ladies and males now sport reddish checked shirts with black bottoms and black sneakers, making them quite trendy. They added fedora hats to the attire. This is one of the outlets owned by Famous Brands, which has just recently acquired 51% shares in Retail Group, and at the same time it is the Botswana Wimpy Master Licensee. They own four wimpy outlets in the country located at Airport Junction, Western Bypass, Game City and Riverwalk. The recently opened store has a staff compliment of 35 and it is the first store in Gaborone to be revamped to the latest Wimpy store look which is called the ‘Brave Heart’. Retail Group Marketing Manager Kiki Musonda said the new look uses more earthly colours and plays around the tones and textures with low hanging lights but still maintains the bold statements of who they are as Wimpy, which is Brave. She said though the franchises may be owned by different people, the most important thing is that they all provide employment to citizens. The new shop is also well built for people with disabilities to be able to use the facilities with ease just from the flooring. The shop was officially opened by HATAB Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Lilly Rakoro, who appreciated the contribution made by the Wimpy outlets to the economy though their franchises. She recognised that indeed the new look shows that Wimpy is ‘Brave’ and as such will continue to be an eating outlet that not only Batswana cherishes but the international community as well.
