Horse race to spice up celebrations

With the immense support from corporates and the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture (MYSC) the Motokwe village residents will have extraordinary independence celebrations. Their main event will be a horse race which will be complemented very well by dikhwaere, traditional dance and folk music. Guests will also feast on traditional food and traditional brew.


The chairman of Motokwe Village Development Committee (VDC) Ngongorego Kgalaeng said they have been preparing for this celebration for some time. In 2013, they had breakthrough when companies owned by the people born in Motokwe decided to invest in the growth of their village. This then saw Knighthood Marketing and Daylon Media Inc partnering with them to for sponsor for the event. “We want this to be totally different; we will be celebrating with students from different schools,” Kgalaeng said.

Event coordinator Jacob Kelebeng said that they are happy with all their sponsors because all of them are sponsoring in both monetary and merchandise value. The sponsors MYSC, JB Sports, T&T Geomatics, Knighthood Marketing, and Daylon Media Inc were all applauded for having sponsored the event with satisfactory sponsorship that will make the event a success. Kgosi Cosmos Baeletsi Tshotlane thanked all the sponsors who are helping to put his village on the map and give them quite a memorable independence celebration. He encouraged people to come and celebrate the independence with them.
