The Lady Khama Charitable Trust will on August 13 host the annual Urban Obstacle Challenge and family fun day at the Botswana Cricket Association (BCA) Oval.
The Trust’s Director Rebecca Binns said they are planning to have a very exciting event this year. The obstacle challenge will start and finish at the BCA oval. A team of four pays P600 to register. There is a 9km race with 10 obstacles along the route which is said to be open to both public and corporate groups.  “Corporate groups will have a chance to straighten their teams as we have the perfect exercise what will challenge their communication skills and teamwork, “she said. Team members are encouraged to have different physical and mental strengths since each obstacle will test all those abilities. Binns warned that the challenge is not for the fainthearted as it is aimed at sharpening teams and building rapport. “We encourage you to bring your A game because the competition is fierce this year and titles are going to be defended.  Teams that want to register can either go to the LKCT offices in Commerce Park or do it online.  People are allowed to register as many teams as desired,” she said. Some of the eight teams will have the opportunity go challenge the LKCT patron Dr Ian Khama in order to win the president’s cup. “Unfortunately the event is not open to the public and it is only open to eight companies. The cup challenge includes five aside football, bike race, sprint relay and the crowd pleasing tug of war,” she said.
