The 2016 Miss Botswana pageant’s Top 30 contestants have been unveiled. Assistant Coordinator for Miss Botswana Bogadi Nwako said this year’s pageant will not be like any other because this is the golden jubilee. She affirmed that the competition is going on very well even at the boot camp. On their partnership with the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Culture and on whether the prizes have been increased, Nwako said that they have not yet got to any agreement because the collaboration process was started late. “We are very excited about this collaboration because this pageant will be exceptional,” she said, adding that all the queens from 1966 to date will be involved. She urged the public to attend the finals in large numbers at GICC on July 29th because the pageant will be a celebration of all the queens Botswana has had. VIP tickets for the event cost P1500, P700 for gold tickets and P300 for silver tickets. She said that they will soon have a media launch to reveal the Top 12 that will go to the finals. One of the contestants, who spoke in anonymity, said that she had entered the pageant again because she knows that she is capable. “If I was someone I would not have come back but this is more about what I want to do for this nation and my passion,” she said. One of the coordinators at the boot camp said everything was going on well as they gear closer to the crowning of the most beautiful lady in the country.
