Connie Ferguson comforted after “surviving a stampede”

Producer and actress Connie Ferguson got away unharmed after an alarm went off at Greenacres shopping centre in Port Elizabeth leaving shoppers in a panic. A stampede of people left the mall running after assuming the alarm was to alert them of a possible robbery. Connnie Ferguson managed to seek refuge inside a cellphone shop after misplacing her designer handbag with valuables and a cellphone while she waited for the chaos to subside. “This after surviving a stampede of people running away and all over the place from a presumed armed robbery in the centre,” said Ferguson. The shopping centre management posted an alert on social media saying:  “Please note that there was a false alarm triggered at the mall this afternoon (Sat 3 Sept). There is no need for worry or panic.” In March 2016, a man was shot dead at a jewelry store at Greenacress shopping centre following the robbery of Fischers Jewelry store. Connie’s husband, Shona took to Twitter to comfort his wife, so did Dineo Moeketsi:
