The 2016 GIMC festival has come and gone, living revelers impatiently waiting for the next installment. The Friday comedy night saw artists flooring revelers down with jokes with local comedian Mawee staking his claim to be among the best in the trade. Dressed like a sangoma, he had the crown in stitches and pleading that he did not leave the stage. Doc Vikela from Zimbabwe gave a very impressive show with him keeping the audience up in gags. The only lady of the night Lihle Lindzy from South Africa was a breath of fresh air and managed to keep the audience bursting with laughter without making anyone feel uncomfortable or making anyone a subject of ridicule. The main act of the night was Salvado from Uganda, and he delivered with aplomb. The icing on the cake was Saturday’s music festival at the National Stadium. Event organisers - Leapfrog - had a VIP section that was sponsored by KBL while DSTV had the VVIP section for media and other invited dignitaries. Revelers danced into the wee hours of the morning enjoying unlimited supply of beverages. The dress sense at the VIP section was top class – serious and fancy.
