Gaborone Club will on December 03 host the Mega Party dubbed Fashion Meets Music expected to bring fashion enthusiasts and designers together. One of the organisers of the event David Letshwiti said they saw it fit to host the party because  in Botswana people do not take fashion as a very valuable thing. “Most Batswana do not understand that the way someone dresses up always tells a story, shows their attitude and how they are feeling,” he said. Letshwiti said it is time that people stop stereotyping others and looking at them in a certain way for dressing up in a different way and for looking different from how they will dress regularly. He said that women should be allowed to wear their hot pants freely and their miniskirts without being made to feel like they are worthless.

“People should come dressed up in wow outfits to express themselves through fashion. This is the platform for them to be free and show their creativity,” he said
Fashionistas Teshwan Miller and Neelo, who have been in the business of fashion for a long time, are the hosts of the red carpet event. There will be stalls by local fashion designers exhibiting their products for the revellers. Currently trending hip hop sensation Ban T, Antonelle, Kabelo Tiro and Flexy while from South Africa will perform at the party alongside DJ Bongz, Robbie Malinga and Musa. Many local DJs among them German Dollar, Phouboy, DJ Stomps and Ricky Lama will make the lineup. The climax of the party will be a draw in which the lucky winner will walk away with a Mini Cooper. “We will select five people from the revellers as finalists with a chance to walk away with the mini cooper. So grab your camp chair for you and your kids, get your cooler boxes and just come enjoy the outdoor experience,” he said.
