Efigy Productions successfully pulled off a two-day Fashion Without Borders show at Avani Hotel where the local designers and models came on full swing to prove that Botswana has got all the right people to grow the creative industry. Fashion at the show was unbelievable as those who came to watch came dressed in statement pieces that showed that it was indeed a fashion show that they were attending. Boss Models – one of the leading international model agencies – was also there to scout for talent while shops like Mr Price had their buyers to see some of the collections that they can have in their shops. Before the fashion runway, there was an exhibition at the museum which was blended with poetry.
International media in SABC, ANN7, BET A-List Dstv Channel and many others in photographers, journalist and videographers were in attendance. The directors of the event Tebo Kabisoso and her partner Serge Kabisoso couldn’t stop smiling as they looked at the kind of people that graced the event.
The show was kick-started by local designers’ duo of Mollz and Kellz who showcased the outfits that screamed elegance yet fun with the fluttered patterns incorporating mostly white and mint colours. Local diva Motswafere serenaded the crowd while other designers like Rosetta Stone, Versatile Creations, Angelina Bella Couture, Bantukuni, Switch Couture, Pio Jay Couture, Pamela Creations, Naka Designs and House of Noir all came to the party with a variety of outfits from sexy, formal and beach wear to fun. The Kabisoso’s acknowledged the support that Batswana have rendered towards the event since Avani was filled up to capacity. Having been the models themselves (organisers), there is no doubt that the duo would go far in making FWB one of the biggest events in Africa’s fashion calendar. Tebo said they are committed to making sure that FWB grows and afford many designers from all over the world to exhibit.
