The 2017 Shell Motor show is underway at the new Game City Mall Rooftop where motor lovers are spoilt for choice. The Permanent Secretary in the ministry of Transport and Communications Kabelo Ebineng officiated at the event on Friday morning and applauded organisers for creating a platform for consumers of their products. “This can really help our people in making informed decisions and I applaud all the sponsors who support initiatives like this. As a ministry responsible for making sure that there is efficient delivery of transport services, events like this can fulfil our mandate,” he said. One of the organisers of the event Christian Ernest said they are very excited about the 2017 Motor show and thanked he major sponsors in Shell, Stanbic Bank, Alpha Direct and MTN Business. He recognised the companies for believing in them. Local dealers taking part in the show include Honda, Barloworld, Land Rover, Hilux, Botswana Oil and Ford. Ernest said the event is meant to educate the Botswana market on the many products that are available to them in the automotive industry. “Our sole and main objective is to provide a platform where the consumers and the service providers can meet,” he said. Vivo Energy Botswana Managing Director Wayne Kingwill expressed his excitement for being part of the event to showcase their products in Shell V-power, Shell Fuelsave, Shell Helix and Shell Rimula. He said they are happy that Shell has proven to be a fuel provider of choice among Batswana and as Vivo Energy and Shell Botswana they are always looking forward to collaborations that will help them reach out to their customers. “I am happy to say that our products and services are much talked about and this can also be seen on formula one where Ferrari uses all the oils from Shell and I can say that we are doing really well,” he said. Head of Channels at Stanbic Bank Botswana Calistus Chijoro said they were pleased about the partnership as financiers in the industry. “We always want to make sure that our clients get the car that they want, not because they wanted to buy a car and that was the only one that they could get,” he said. Chijoro said at this point in time they are leaders in support of making sure that they help their clients best in getting the cars that they want. MTN Business is providing free WIFI during the whole period of the show.
