La santé restaurant

Eating healthy is what everyone aspires to do especially in this era of increasing lifestyle diseases. La Sante at the Zambezi Towers at the CBD in Gaborone is among the new additions to the city’s restaurants. Though classy it offers healthy and delicious meals at affordable prices.  The management of the restaurant says it does not compromise on quality for their clients. La Sante itself is a French statement that means ‘Your Health’. Marketing officer Kitso Esele said their main call is to have clients eat healthily. Esele said they are providing people with very tasty food that are very healthy as well. Their popularity in the CBD is growing. “Most of the people who come here are always people on the go, who want to grab something fast that is healthy. So basically we cater for many that work in the offices around here and because of its exclusivity and intimacy we always have corporates come and have their meetings at the restaurant over a hearty healthy meal,” he said. Esele said they have a variety of lunch packs and smoothies which are very healthy. He said they want to offer people a healthy option, and cut down on the waiting time for customers’ orders. They are very much inspired to improve their service and even expand.

He said one thing that they do is to make sure that their environment is totally different, where each and every day they stick notes on their walls where customers can just pick one that motivates them and the one which talks to whatever that they will be going through. “Customers can really feel like they are in this little haven when they are at La Sante because we want to keep them happy and motivated so that they can have stress free days because work can be very stressful at times,” he said. As if that is not enough, there is also a weight scale in the restaurant where customers can just measure themselves and monitor their progress as they eat at the restaurant.  The chef Pleasure Makgatle said the health breakfast is their top dish – where plain yoghurt and whole wheat are preferred ingredients. “One of our main ingredient is the avocado because of its healthy mono unsaturated fatty acids, and the only oil that we use is olive oil,” she declared. Makgatle said they don’t have sugar but use only honey. The only coffee they offer is blacksmith cappuccinos. Despite the delightful meals they serve, the restaurant also offers traditional foods that are also cooked in a healthy way as well.
