There is a new city craze of Latin Dance in social events. This is the brainchild of local dancers Mike and Miss T – a married couple of dance professionals. Miss T said they want to have a culture of Latin dance socials imbedded in Batswana because Botswana just like many other countries has a lot of expatriates. “We have realised that there is need for such activities because of the ones that we have held before, and we want to make this constant so that it can become a lifestyle for many who really enjoy the events,” she said.  Miss T said through the social events they will be promoting the Salsa Bachata and Kizomba dance styles which are both fun and have health benefits as the participants are working out their bodies in the process. She said that everyone who wants to take part in their social events is advised to register for dance classes to learn the basics. “This is done at a restaurant or any other place where people just come together to have fun while dancing at the same time in a dance fiesta party,” she said. Miss T said online registration is on-going but those who want to take part can continue to register at the Alliance Francoise and Cross Gold. Dancing, she said, helps with developing coordination of the mind and muscles, encourages good poise regardless of age, tones up the body and gives the great to be alive feeling. At last week’s session at Phakalane Mowana Mall they had invited a special guest from South Africa.
