Dream Drivers Events will host their first annual Sport and Fitness Expo at the Airport Junction Mall in Gaborone on July 8. CEO and Founder of Dream Drivers Events Tsholofelo Zigwa said the event has been made to forge productive relationships with those involved in the sector. “The main advantage of the exhibition is to expand investment prospects for the organisations participating in this Sport and Fitness Expo and a possibility of new doors to the sport, fitness and wellness markets,” she said. Zigwa said they chose the theme looking at the fact that there is need for action. “Action takes an individual to say I can do this and that is the starting point. When a person is fit it means health and as such productivity increases both in their personal lifestyles and business environment,” she said. She said they want to encourage people to participate in sport and fitness activities since those have a great impact in global health.
She said they also want to emphasise the role of nutrition in sport as a necessity. “Our bodies are like machines in some ways, you put quality fuel into the engine and it will be primed for an excellent performance. However, if you put lesser quality fuel into the engine, performance can suffer,” she highlighted. She encouraged more stakeholders to come on board because the event provides a good opportunity to display sport and fitness products and businesses and it can generate sales leads. She said that they also want to promote sport in Botswana by raising awareness on healthy living and fitness and also motivate sport organizations and governments to collaborate in promoting healthy fitness in the lives of Batswana. She said they have also reached out to the cream de la crème of Botswana sports to be part of the event in the likes of Diphetogo Selolwane, Amantle Montsho, Nigel Amos, Isaac Makwala and others. There will be so many things taking place where part of the Expo is the aerobic session that will be done by none other than Timo Boot Camp.
