Kasane: Citadel of beauty

As Botswana continues to become a wonderful tourist attraction destination, the town of Kasane proves to be an interesting place to visit because of its beauty. The Chobe District town boasts of an abundance of wildlife and natural features such as the Chobe and Zambezi Rivers that beautify the town.

This is one of the unique places in the world where wild animals and people have to live together and tolerate each other. Even though this cohabitation at some point is not so harmonious-at some point they cross each other’s paths causing destruction to property and loss of lives.

The animals in Kasane are found everywhere even in the middle of town but they get to get used to the people and in most cases they are of no harm. Tour guides also have said the animals in Kasane have gotten used to people; that they know that they are not a threat to them.

Nonetheless, Peace Shamuka of Last Eden Safaris and Tours said even though the animals could be used to people they need to be treated with caution as they are dangerous.

Despite this for those who need an adventurous lifestyle full of pleasure they should visit this wonderful place. Kasane has become a beehive of tourism activities, providing the most relaxing experience and atmosphere one can ever imagine. There are a number of activities that can both entertain and educate a tourist. For example, the game drives through the mighty Chobe National Park where tour guides teach tourists about the life of the wilderness.

Through the game drive one gets to see a lot of different wildlife species, big and small from elephants to birds. The green bushy surrounding and the cool breeze from the back of an open back vehicle give a refreshing experience.

Apart from the inland tour there is also an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the nature from inside the river on a boat cruise. A slow drive in the river provides an opportunity for one to get up close and personal with the wild animals as they come to have a drink from the river. The boat cruise is one of the safest viewing of the animals as a person is protected from the animals as he or she enjoys the wonderful scenery, with the most interesting being the sunset view. This also brings you closer to the historical Sedudu Island.
