Botswana Medical Aid Services (BOMAID) has handed over a cheque of P54 820 to Botswana Kidney Society which is part of the proceeds from the Up Kgale Charity Climb. The Up Kgale Charity Climb was held on October 14. BOMAID is one of the partners alongside Be Active Sport Management, and In Sync Media Leadership. BOMAID Marketing Manager Beulah Mapitse said they are happy to have partnered with the society, and hope to continue helping them in raising funds. BOMAID Principal Officer Moraki Mokgosana said having raised more than what they raised last year is a clear indication that they are growing and he believes that they exceed target even next year. He said they became the main sponsor for the charity initiative because it is in line with their strategic direction as a medical aid. He applauded his staff for having been very helpful in this cause and even some of their key clients. He said they will continue to have a relationship with Botswana Kidney Society because it is a very worthwhile cause. The founder of Botswana Kidney Society Kitso Otlogetswe appreciated BOMAID’s support, saying the money that they got from the society last year helped them in branding their organisation. “We did not have any kind of branding, but now we look like an organisation that people can take seriously because we have all the branding materials,” he said. Otlogetswe said management will determine projects to undertake with the new donation. Others patients with kidney problems that graced the event applauded BOMAID for the great work that they are doing because not many organisations support them.
