Men for Health and Gender Justice Organisation and its partners will on February 17, 2018 host a picnic for gay, transmen, bisexual or MSM at Bojanala Waterfront. The event is only dedicated to up to 30 gay, bisexual, transmen and MSM persons living in Gaborone. One of the organisers of the event Kagiso Eewin Osupeng said they decided to host the event to have conversations with black, Botswana gay men where they will cover many issues on mental health, self-love, self-appreciation, balancing profession, relationships and social life. The intimate session will allow the men to learn and interact with the each other away from the society. One Lesego Baeng, who identifies as gay, said he got very excited when he saw that platforms like that are being created. He said for someone like him who has a family that does not understand him, it is always important to meet in a relaxed setting with like-minded LGBT men where they can just discuss their issues. “I can see that it is starting with 30 people but I am very sure that after the many inboxes that the organisers will receive, they will definitely find ways to increase the quota so that many can benefit, because as much as we have LEGABIBO to help us with issues, most of us really struggle and that is why it even takes time for others to accept who they are openly,” he said.
