Are Fashion Magazines dying out?

In the age of social media people are buying less print like magazines and newspapers as everything they need to know and more is available through their mobile devices. Public access to the latest trends and articles has never been easier. Which brings the question: are fashion magazines dying out? A decade ago most fashion designers and artists depended heavily on magazines for advertising. Back then you needed to have a strong image, a certain level of importance and money to get a feature in a major magazine. It was quiet prestigious to appear on print in this time, but now the print industry has to compete with the evolution of technology and social media. So how does the month to month pace of a fashion magazine beat the speed of social media? Diversification and innovation! Magazine editors need to find a way to reach their readers on various platforms beyond print. They need social media to drive their customers back to buying their print. Social media is powerful today because of its accessibility, options, features and much more.  Everyone uses the internet and social media differently and it gives a voice to a consumer like never before. Fashion magazines need to think in an innovative manner to be able to gain back the attention of customers as many people still love the glossy pages and the feel of flipping through the magazine. The content people consume now is different from what they consumed before also affecting what journalists have to share with their readers. In Botswana people do not invest a lot on print and internet access and usage is limited. Do you think that the print industry is dying?
