The Boitumelo Foundation has announced the date for its 2nd Benefit Concert since the inception of the Foundation in 2016.

Boitumelo Foundation founder and patron, Ramachandram Ottapathu said the foundation “aims to assist in all ways possible the promotion of music, dance, arts, sports and culture”. Music is a universal language and it is through music that the most powerful collaborations have been borne. The Boitumelo Benefit Concert will this year be held on the 25th of August at Duma FM Grounds from 10am-10pm.

This year’s concert is a collaboration of efforts between the Boitumelo Foundation, DIY entertainment represented by Game ‘Zeus’ Bantsi and The Beatbox Productions represented by Sidney ‘Boogie Sid’ Nzala. The Foundation saw it fitting to work with these two entertainment production organisations as they represent a greater reach and wider audience in the Botswana entertainment industry.

Artists billed to perform at the concert include our very own national artists such as Han-C, Mpho Sebina, Charma Gal, Sargam, Dj Kuchi and favourites from South Africa including Samthing Soweto and Busiswa. The cross-cultural presence is an important aspect to the Board of Trustees as they wish to highlight the various cultures and customs we have represented in Botswana.

Concert goers are encouraged to bring a friend whose culture they have learned a lot from and join in on the fun filled day of cultural exchange. The Foundations motto ‘a life lived for others is a life worthwhile’ will resonate as part of audience attendance will be earned. This year the Foundation will put a challenge forward, that to win a ticket to attend the Concert, one must show their acts of service. The Boitumelo Foundation will this week release more information on how you can earn your ticket.

The Foundation endeavours to raise P1 million through this year’s activities. This ambitious target can only be met if all stakeholders come together and lend a hand to the cause areas. Tickets for the concert have gone on sale this week and are available through all Webtickets retail outlets and online at www.webtickets.co.bw
