‘Lil Rap God’ launches debut single – ‘Holiday’
One of Botswana’s greatest artists who boosts of growing international appeal Lorraine Lionheart is celebrating her recent performance at the Commonwealth Resounds where her audience included newly-wed royals Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle.
Based in the UK, she has won many awards as one of the best musicians in the diaspora in Europe.
Priding herself as a ‘bush girl’, she has hit a new high with her son making a debut in music career. Her 10-year-old son’s debut single is dubbed ‘Holiday’ and is set to soon release an EP titled ‘Shine’.
“To say I am proud would be an understatement considering the support and love that he has been getting from all over the world and I believe he has potential for greatness,” she said. Lorraine said that his son is the one who wrote the song for himself and then he featured her in it.
Observers have dubbed him ‘the little boy with magic’, with most appreciating the flow in his verses. He trades under the name ‘Lil Rap God’ and his social media fan base is growing fast.
Lorraine said that even though his son is young, he allows and nurtures him to follow his passions and to be whoever he wants to be. She wants him to appreciate that in order to achieve anything there should be hard work and effort put in to gain success. “I saw his passion and resilience when he was doing this song, and although the music industry is not an easy one I am very sure that with the training that he will get from it he will be able to deal with issues head on and I am proud of the young man he is becoming.”
