September marks a year since retail giant Choppies embarked on a national cooking competition geared at inspiring local amateur chefs to cook and showcase their best cooked traditional dishes.
The Choppies National Cook-off Contest is an initiative by the retailer to engage the public in promoting and celebrating Botswana traditional foods and products. To accomplish this to the fullest, Choppies partnered with Botswana Agricultural Marketing Board (BAMB), Cresta Lodge with the main sponsor for the competition being Unilever with their Knorr and Robertson’s spices brands.
Entries for this year’s competition opened on September 3 and will run until September 23, 2018. Entry is free of charge with competitors posting a picture on the Choppies Facebook page @Choppies on Facebook) of any traditional food that they have cooked and plated.
