Social entrepreneur and author Kagiso Madibana has released her second book title ‘To Rangolo with Love’. The book launch was graced by MP Ndaba Gaolathe and British High Commissioner Katy Ransome.
The illustration on the cover of the book was done by one of the great artists in the country in Wilson Ngoni.
The book is about a young girl who was very close to his grandfather, sharing with him the roller coaster of emotions and the relationship that they had together.
The cover of the book depicts an old man sitting by the fire with the young lady who is joyful with a top of the range car behind them.
Madibana said she was very happy that through the cover Ngoni was able to capture the whole mood of the book and tell the exact story that is inside. Gaolathe encouraged young people to be inspired by a vision; something that makes them wake up at night or restless in order to be able to reach where they want to go. “Have a dream, it is important, we all know this from characters like Martin Luther King, who was very restless about his vision as he advocated for equality, and we still learn from that even up to now,” he said.
He encouraged them not to underestimate their dreams no matter how little they think they are, because that dream can be able to change lives in generations to come. He emphasised that he wants to see young people with something that burns inside them and that they need to constantly learn. He applauded Madibana for the great work that she has been doing, urging her to continue doing her best to impact reading in the society. “I am willing to go out of my way to support this kind of vision and zeal,” he emphasised.
