The inaugural Botswana Land Boards Local Authorities and Health Workers Union (BLLAHWU) Heritage Day will be held on the 13th October 2018, Gaborone at Tlotlo Conference Centre from 6PM till late.
This is a historic and spectacular event that will be held under the theme “Cultural influence on the Struggle,” said Secretary General Ketlhalefile Motshegwa.
BLLAHWU Heritage Day is a forum where there shall be exhibition of diversity of cultures in Botswana, including showcasing the culture of the trade union movement to display inherent infusion of culture and human rights struggle. The Guest Speaker will be Kgosi Mosadi Seboko.
The night will be spiced by performances led by Ditiro Leero, MmaAusi of the ‘Setlogolo sea Nyala’ hit song, Dithaka Cultural group, poetry, reciting of cultural stories and many more. Traditional food will be the menu for the event in an attempt to underscore the healthiness and good taste of local cuisine. The event which is the first installment is expected to be characterised by fireworks from the performance of traditional music and delicious cultural dishes. Going forward BLLAHWU Heritage Day will be held annually as a form of contribution of the union to protecting, preserving and showcasing local cultures in the dynamic cultural practices.
