Batswapong to celebrate their culture

The Lentswe La Batswapong Cultural Association (LLB) - Tjhetswapong ke tjhe ha Rena – will host the Batswapong Ethnic Group Cultural and Heritage Day commemorations on Saturday (October 27, 2018) at Tumasera.

The aim of the event is to show case and celebrate the rich and diverse Batswapong Culture, through different activities such as song and dance, arts and letters and many others. The Batswapong culture is very well known for its whole complex of distinctive spiritual, material, intellectual and emotional features that characterizes us as a unique social group. The Theme of the 2018 Tumasera-Batswapong Cultural and Heritage celebration is “My culture my identity, key for our prosperity and posterity”: “Ngwao yame sekano same, tswelelopele le bokamoso jwa dikokomane tsa rona”.

The Guest Speaker at the event is Carter Morupisi, the Permanent Secretary to the President (PSP).

The United Nations Organisation Agency-United Nations Educational, Social and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) says; “It is through culture that man expresses himself, becomes aware of himself, recognizes his incompleteness, questions his own achievements, seeks untiringly for new meanings and creates works through which he transcends his limitations”.
