Situated in the new posh wing of the Game City mall in Gaborone,  CHELSEA Nails, Waxing and Beauty salon, brings New York City glamour and chic to the busy women, and of course men, of Botswana.

The beauty salon is franchised by Dr Tasneem Mitha from an international brand operating in New York, Los Angeles and London. It is named after the charming New York suburb, Chelsea, synonymous with chic and elegance. The salon’s décor features intricately designed workstations named after the famous street names of actual places in the USA.

Having been operational since November 2017, offering express manicure, pedicure, waxing, threading and massage services to its vast clientele that includes members of both sexes, CHELSEA also offers a range of in-house products that patrons can buy and use in the comfort of their homes or give away as souvenirs to loved ones.

PATRIOT LIFESTYLE reporter had a chance to sample the salon’s Luxe Pedicure service and the experience was phenomenal; leaving little doubt as to the etiquette and attention to detail of the assistants, who have the patience and courtesy to explain every step of the process to both novices and the experienced in the art of beauty treatments.

The attendant, who only wished to be known as Kele, meticulously performed her duties with precision and nimbleness, a culture that stems from the realisation that people need to pop into the salon for a quick fix and still leave satisfied having been treated like royalty.

This is highly motivated by the salon’s firm belief in ensuring the treatments are quick while promoting customer satisfaction. The salon prides itself in catering for the city slicker who has limited time to spare in their busy schedule.

With the exceptional services offered by the salon, one might be tempted to think Chelsea offers exorbitantly priced and dragged out services that take the whole day, an occurrence synonymous with an upmarket beauty spa. “… the treatments are designed with thought of people on the go who don’t have the time to spend getting pampered in a spa,” reads part of a statement from the salon, which continues that the salon does not accept appointments, a practice in line with New York City’s philosophy of fast and convenient service provision.

The salon also offers a mobile service where the team does house calls depending on the different customer preferences.
