HOPE FOR COVID-19

Maun-based author Thulaganyo Serole has launched her book titled The World’s Hope for COVID-19, which acts as a guide and motivation in times of the dreaded COVID-19 outbreak.

Speaking at the book launch on October 30 at Maun Lodge, The Minister for Health and Wellness, Dr Edwin Dikoloti said the book came at the right time when COVID-19 cases were on the rise in Botswana and the rest of the world.  He said The World’s Hope for COVID-19, is a description of a different approach as it gives a spiritual approach in combating the Coronavirus. He added by saying that the synergy between church and state is recognized and has been of use in years prior. 

Dikoloti supported the book as it is the first book to be written about the pandemic in Botswana. “The book  is an eye opener as it can help fight  COVID-19  using faith .He described how  the Coronavirus  has negatively affected individuals, the economic development and health sectors globally .When  concluding  he encouraged Batswana to purchase the book as it is essential and is also published by a youth  owned company Prime Publishers in Gaborone.

One of the key people in the book Maun Ministers Fraternal Apostle Terence Sechele, who acted as a mentor to the author, said the book was theorized in March this year when Botswana began to experience cases of COVID-19.He described who the possible contact of the virus inflicted a sense of fear in people therefore the author saw need to redirect the fear to Christ. Sechele said Thulaganyo Serole, the author of the book approached him as a way of finding   out how COVID-19 affected the church. Serole also interviewed numerous pastors as a way of data collection.

For her part Thulaganyo Serole the author of the book who is a strong believer in Jesus Christ said when she wrote the book she was seeing how the world was changing dramatically, how people were now fearful, how demotivated and hopeless people were. She said she wrote the book to help alleviate the problems brought by COVID-19.The book was a way of giving people a sense of Hope in a period of hopelessness.
