The annual Lobatse Beef Festival will this year run for two days – May 29th to Sunday the 31st. Area MP Sadique Kebonang will officiate.
Event organiser Barolong Seboni emphasised that on Saturday it will be the usual beef festival with music at the park. People will be given the braai packages at the gate, and they will get inside in order to get the opportunity to visit different stalls and eat specialised types of meat. Just outside the park revellers will be treated to an off-road, farming and outdoor exhibition. Opposite the park there will also be the Masakeng Agricultural Expo in which farmers from all over the country will display their different cattle breeds. “In Masakeng expo there would also be cattle feeds and farming equipment on display,” he said. To embrace the outdoor life even more, there would be the 4 by 4 outdoor expo that is dubbed ‘Nkisa Morakeng’. These will be exhibited by different motor dealers around the country, where they will show off cars that are good to use for farming purposes.
Seboni said there will be different competitions from braai competition to best stall winner. There will also be the 4 by 4 pimp my bakkie competition in which the winner will be chosen looking at how accessorised their bakkies are in regard to mag wheels, lights and many other things. On Sunday the weekend party will be sealed off with a more laidback day of Jazz music where families will come together to just have fun with kids having an array of games to play. “This day will be very relaxed, more like an old school type of thing where people would eat mokoto, mogodu and many others,” he added. Saturday tickets cost P150 and Sunday P100 while the ticket for the two days cost P200.
