Lobatse milk project takes shape

 Milk Afric takes Lobatse Mayor to meet its business partners in Florida, USA

 Lobatse Mayor, Councillor Malebogo Kruger will lead a delegation of five to Alliance Dairies in Florida, United States of America from September 9th - 19, 2015. The purpose of the visit by the Mayor and her delegation will be to be introduced to the Milk Afric partners in America and be afforded an opportunity to visit various farm operations including the calving unit, the milking parsons, the housing unit, the fodder fields, the silage storage areas and others.

Milk Afric, trusts that during the stay in the United States, the Mayor and her delegation will have a full appreciation of the Dairy project which knowledge shall be used in Lobatse Town Council/Milk Afric (Pty) Ltd Private Public Partnership milk project which started in 2013. It is expected that, upon its full operation the dairy project is expected to greatly improve and diversify the  milk production situation in Botswana, encourage skills transfer and will create employment to the locals.

The Mayor’s trip and her delegation is fully funded Milk Afric (PTY) Ltd.  Milking operations remain Milk Afric’s core business activity and with the importation of superior genetics from the USA and Europe which make up its biological assets in Botswana. The annual milk production is expected to increase rapidly in the years ahead.
