Mogae tours South Sudan states

Former Botswana President, Festus Mogae, who oversees the shaky South Sudan Peace Agreement and the formation of Transitional Government of National Unity (TGNU) begins touring 10 South Sudan states in accordance with Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (JMEC) Calendar. News sources from South Sudan confirm that Mogae is visiting the 10 states as stipulated in the signed peace agreement and established in the country’s transitional constitution (2011).

According to the inner circles of JMEC, President Mogae is expected to begin the tour this Thursday in Western Bhar el Ghazal before proceeding to Northern Bhar el Ghazal, Unity and Upper Nile states. Upon his arrival in the states, President Mogae and his delegation are expected to meet with the state governments comprising of governors, religious leaders, local authorities, representatives of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan(UNMISS) and members of the Monitoring and Verification Team.
