End of the road for JC failures

One out of every three students (36 per cent) who sat for 2015 Junior Secondary Examination (JCE) have failed to proceed to Form 4 secondary education, after the admission process was completed and the results announced by the Ministry of Education and Skills Development (MoESD) on Wednesday.

Of the 41 438 students who sat for the 2015 JCE only 26 600 have been admitted for form four, representing a transition rate of 64.03 percentage.

A statement from MoESD said the 2016 form four students should report to their respective schools on Tuesday, February 23. It said students admitted as boarders will be expected to report on February 22. Students who have been admitted at the two new unified secondary schools of Mahupu and Tsabong will report to their respective schools on March 8 while boarding students will report on March 7. MoESD statement said information on student's placement will be in all secondary schools and regional education offices and on the government portal; www.gov.bw. or through short messaging service (sms) notification.
