Sesung councillor re-joins BDP

The Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) chairperson Mokgweetsi Masisi has welcomed back their prodigal councillor for Khudumelapye/Sesung, Bokopano Tumiso, from the Botswana National Front (BNF). Tumiso said he has retraced his steps after he realised that most of the issues that led him to quit the ruling party have been addressed. “There have been developments at both Khudumelapye and Sesung such as the construction of customary court offices which has created jobs for the locals,” said Tumiso.
Another issue that he said was unsettling him was UDC’s opposition to Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) which he said is something they have always advocated for. Before he left the BDP last year he was an additional member of the BDP national executive committee of the National Youth League and chairperson of the Takatokwane branch youth league. He denied allegations that he has been bought to return to the ruling party. Early this year Tumiso had a case with the Takatokwane police following allegations that he tried to commit suicide due to misunderstanding with his girlfriend.
