CEDA hosts CEO Forum for DFIs

The CEO Forum of the World Federation of Development Finance Institutions (WFDFI) kicks off in Gaborone on Wednesday. CEDA chief operating officer, Andrew Madeswi said the objective of the forum is to among other things discuss current trends in global Development Finance Institutions (DFI) and economic environment and also to develop closer working relationships among CEO’s and senior executives of DFI’s and their stakeholders across the globe. The forum - under the theme “DFI’s sustaining relevance in the age of disruption” - will also look to develop and strengthen partnership for cross-border investment promotion and financing as well as to support efforts of promoting inclusive socio-economic development in the continents through global cooperation among DFI’s.

Vice President, Mokgweetsi Masisi is scheduled to deliver a keynote address with Vincent Seretse, the Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry also addressing the gathering. Madeswi said given CEDA public policy role, it is important for the agency to carry out its mandate in an honest and transparent manner and deliver tangible results to the shareholder. “That is why we will be meeting with our colleagues from all over the world to discuss current trends in the global environment, develop a closer working relationship among CEOs , senior executives of DFIs and their strategic shareholders as well as share and learn best practices in development financing operations,” Madewsi said. He said they will also discuss ways in which they can adopt new technologies to improve operational efficiency, risk management and service delivery.
