Motswaledi's father endorses UDC

The father of the late Umbrella for Democratic Change Vice-President, Gomolemo Motswaledi, Thatayaone Motswaledi endorsed the party and its Gaborone Central candidate on Sunday.

Motswaledi was speaking at a campaign rally organised to canvass votes for Phenyo Butale, who took over the race for Gaborone Central following the death of the UDC candidate, Gomolemo.

The father laced his words with proverbs as he told his audience that he was happy to have been invited by UDC members, people who shared his son’s vision of democracy, to attend and speak at the rally.

"Batho baba mosola mo sechabeng ga ba swe, ba tshelela ruri mo dipelong tsa rona. Jaanong, ka lware Gomolemo one a rata kgaolo e, ngwaga le ngwaga ha le mpitsa ke ta ta gone ha. Ke ohe motsadi yo ka ganang pitso ya tiro ya ngwana wa gagwe? Mo mpolelleng!"

The rally was held at Tsholofelo in Gaborone, had a line-up of 10 speakers who included Butale and UDC president, Duma Boko. Boko told his audience that the UDC is certain of victory, adding that Batswana are hungry for change which his party is ready to provide.
