SPEDU CEO Mokubung reinstated

The Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Vincent Seretse is said to have lifted the suspension of SPEDU Chief Executive Officer Dr Mokubung Mokubung. Mokubung reported for work on Thursday morning after being suspended for almost three months on undisclosed reasons. In an interview recently Minister Seretse confirmed that decision regarding Mokubung will be taken before end of February this year. SPEDU is challenged with resuscitating the town of Selebi-Phikwe following the closure of BCL mine. Though there are reports that the mine has got a new buyer there is still a lot of pressure on government to diversify the town’s economic base since mining of copper is almost at its tail end.
