BDF hosts African Air chiefs

The Botswana Defence Force, in partnership with U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa, will co-host the largest African Air Chiefs Symposium in its 7-year history from May 16 to 17 in Kasane. The African Air Chiefs Symposium is an annual forum for Air Chiefs from across the African continent to come together with the United States to discuss important regional and national issues, cultivate relationships and emphasize cooperation. This year’s symposium will especially focus on training and force development. Air Chiefs from thirty countries plan to attend, with a total of approximately 150 participants. Speakers at the event will include General Tod D. Wolters, U.S. Air Forces in Europe-U.S. Air Forces Africa Commander and the BDF Air Arm Commander, Major General Innocent Phatshwane. Members of the media are invited to the opening and closing ceremonies. A press question and answer session will be held after the opening ceremony.  The symposium’s public affairs staff will be available to facilitate interview requests and can provide photos and video footage for media publication.
