Tertiary Education, Research, Science and Technology Minister Ngaka Ngaka has implored on Limkokwing class of 2018 graduates to change their mindset towards job and industry world approach and put in place the innovative and creative skills they acquired to create jobs for themselves.
Ngaka made the call during Limkokwing's 11th graduation ceremony held under the theme 'Changing the World' where he highlighted that Limkokwing graduates have a unique global experience, which has been specially designed to equip them with skills and knowledge to engage in the process of creativity,innovation and transformation. “You form an important equation in the ecosystem that Botswana must develop so that our nation is able to effectively harness the creativity of its people. As you have been effectively trained to be job creators rather than job seekers, I take pride in looking forward to seeing new enterprises being set up because the hallmark of a Limkokwing University Education is the confidence of its graduates to manage their own businesses within the creative sector,” said Ngaka.
Ngaka also applauded Limkokwing University for contributing to the expansion and access to tertiary education with creative arts based courses tailored for the job market diversification. He also noted that the theme Change the World calls for entrepreneurship and innovative mindset amongst the graduates.
Congratulating Class of 2018 graduates the Founder and President of Limkokwing University Creative Technology Tan Sri Dato’ Paduka Dr Limkokwing said they have the advantage of graduating from an international university that has won more than 300 awards of creativity and innovation and celebrates many firsts. Some of the most recent achievements include being recognized for Global TVET Leadership for Economic Transformation by ASIC and IVETA UK, UN Academic Impact Partner, Member of the World Federation of United Nations Friends and Commonwealth Youth Leadership University. “I am proud to say that these magnificent awards and recognitions are all due to the hard work and commitment of our outstanding students and staff. The world is rapidly changing and no matter how quickly it is changing , you have the ability to do well like other graduates before,” said Dr Limkokwing.
