… Free to their private clients
First National Bank of Botswana (FNBB) private clients have got themselves another extra benefit from the bank in which they will have free access to Nthula Lounge at Sir Seretse Khama International Airport (SSKIA). This is the first lounge of its calibre at the airport, and it boasts of class and eminence which will indeed offer the needs of the daily business travellers or just patrons who just want to unwind while waiting for their next flight. High end travellers always want to have the best time whenever they are traveling and also prefer a place where they can just do their business without having to worry about anything.
FNBB acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Richard Wright said as a bank they are committed to making sure that they take care of their clients’ needs. He said Nthula Lounge is such an amenity that ties into a variety of travel-based value additions that the bank offers. "This will offer our clients luxurious sitting with massage chairs, free access to Wi-Fi, printing and faxing facilities in order to make sure that their business goes on even for the few minutes or hours that they will be waiting for their flights," Wright said. On top of that the lounge offers coffee table recreational and business books for reading pleasure, private bathrooms, seasonal freshly prepared food, fresh percolates tea and coffee, soft drinks and juices, and house wine and beer for easy unwinding.
Bomolemo Selaledi, the bank’s Director of Marketing and Communications hailed the lounge as a brief rejuvenating pause before someone enters the real world. It offers a modern day traveller an opportunity to enjoy the cool, serene and comfortable environment while waiting to board their next flight, she said. Though this is free for FNB private Clients debit and credit card holders, walk in clients are allowed access to the lounge to utilise the lounge for a minimum of two hours at a certain fee. The FNB private client debit and credit card is a traveling card that offers FNB customers privileges such as free access to the SLOW lounge at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg and over 650 other international departure lounges worldwide. Selaledi said this then offers the clients with the purchase protection of up to P182 000 covering against loss or damaged goods within 90 days of purchase. “And now access to Nthula lounge makes a difference to the way customers spend and experience their travel," she said.
The lounge opens from six in the morning when the first flight takes off until the last flight at nine o'clock, with a seating capacity of 25. On whether the capacity is not too little concerning the people that might use the place, the lounge manager Thelma Maswikiti insisted that they looked at the population of Botswana and the capacity of the inflow of people that are traveling on a day to day basis at the airport. She said though it is small, the level of service is world class, which makes the lounge very comparable to other lounges around the world. "This shows that excellence can become a reality in Botswana, and we want to match with countries all over the world. We give personalised service," she said.
FNBB boasted to continue adding to their array of services which includes online banking, cell phone banking, ATM advance and now Nthula Lounge among others.
