Dow appointed Education minister

Former High court judge Unity Dow has been appointed Minister of Education and Skills Development (MoESD) replacing the vice President, Mokgweeksi Eric Keabetswe Masisi. Dow has been the assitant minister at MoESD since appointment after she was roped into parliament as specially elected member following her unsuccesful bid at the 2014 general elections in Mochudi west under the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) banner.
President Ian Khama has relieved  Masisi of his ministerial function so that he can focus on strategic issues he has assigned him in the Office of the Vice President. Serowe North West MP Kgotla Autlwetse replaces Dow as Assistant Minister. Further to that and as a result of a two months sick leave granted to the Minister of Agriculture to allow him to recover, the Assistant Minister of Agriculture, Patrick Ralotsia has been appointed Acting Minister of Agriculture. He will be assisted by BDP chief whip in parliament Fidelis Molao as Acting Assistant Minister of Agriculture. The appointments, which take effect from today (1st March, 2015), were announced by Carter Morupisi, Permanent Secretary to the President and Secretary to Cabinet.
