Moleta joins Barclays bank

Outgoing Botswana Post Chief Executive Officer Pele Moleta is set to join Barclays bank of Botswana as Chief Operations Officer, it has been revealed. Following his surprising resignation as Chief Executive Officer of Botswana Post on Thursday Moleta is expected to assume his new role at Barclays on April 1. He is taking up the position previoulsy held by Aupa Monyatsi who has since joined Barclays Africa based in Johannesburg. Sourcs said on Thursday that Moleta, who has long identified for the position has been awaiting vetting by Bank of Botswana and the Reserve Bank of South Africa.
Moleta has been in the financial sector for most of his career. He started work at FNBB in 1994 after graduating from the University of Botswana where he studied Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Economics. He would later leave the bank and join Old Mutual Asset Manager. That was in 2002. Moleta retraced his steps to FNBB in 2005 before he ultimately left to assume his current position.
