… As de Graaff seeks time for recovery
MP for Ghanzi South Christian De Graaff has been mutually relieved of his Ministerial duties to allow him to focus on his health recovery.
A statement from Office of the President says De Graaff has, during his term as Minister of Agriculture, guided the Ministry's transformation process in the beef industry culminating into last year's exceptional performance of the Botswana Meat Commission (BMC) as well as a bumper harvest in crop production of significant increase in yields through the implementation of the ISPAAD program. This also include the LIMID programme and several other interventions by Government to improve the agriculture sector.
President Ian Khama has in agreeing to release de Graaff thanked him on behalf of the nation for his undivided, unwavering support and commitment to work that he displayed during his term and wished him the best in his recovery.
Consequent to this development, Patrick Ralotsia is confirmed as Minister of Agriculture and will be deputised by Fidelis Molao, who has been acting Assistant Minister.
